Virgin Active's Westfield Bondi Junction club is a $9.5M full-fitout of a complex tenancy on Level 1 of one of Sydney's highest-footfall retail centres. Designed by Quattro Architecture, the brief called for a premium multi-zone wellness destination spanning an open gym floor, reformer pilates studio, Finnish and infrared saunas, hydrotherapy spa, cold plunge, recovery suite, co-working spaces, and a full café kitchen. The complexity of the scope, the building constraints of an existing retail tenancy and the expectations of the Virgin Active brand made this one of the most demanding health and wellness fitout programmes in the market.

Cofield was engaged by head contractor Girvan to establish the project and lead early delivery management. The work began at programme, building a first-principles construction sequence from the design documentation, mapping the critical path through wet areas, structural slab remediation, services installation, and the high-specification wellness zones. Trade packages were tendered, scopes were coordinated, and the project was mobilised with the structure in place to absorb the complexity of what was being built within an operating centre environment.
